Creative by nature, authentic by trade.
You probably won’t be surprised when I tell you green is my favorite colour. From climbing trees to building huts, I’ve always been an outdoorsy type. Free as a bird, soaking up the sun, exploring nature’s finest and creating things, preferably 24/7.
As a teenager I decided to become a silversmith at a specialised art school in the Netherlands. While I loved drawing all my life, this seemed like ‘the wiser thing to do’ at the time and although I haven’t worked as a silversmith since then, this education has taught me a lot; conceptual thinking and exploring different techniques. But it has also given me the confidence that my hands can create (almost) anything my mind invents.
Besides my love for nature and organic shapes I enjoy travelling all over the world. During these travels I get inspired by the smallest things, a shiny raindrop on an odd shaped rock or the way the sun shines through an autumn leaf. Different cultures and unusual vegetation influence my creativity through colours and shapes. Nature will always be the common devisor throughout my collection.
Today I am grateful that my art will decorate your home as window to our world. After all, seeing beautiful things is one of the bare necessities of life…
